Paul D. Camp Community College and the Regional Workforce Development Center are two locations where a wide range of employment, training and career education program services are available to employers, workers, job seekers and youth. The Maintenance Training Institute includes a variety of focused open enrollment courses designed to enhance the skill set of tradespeople, managers and engineers.
Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce
The Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce has been a part of the Franklin Southampton community since 1954. The Chamber provides a respected, unified voice for the business community. Connections are made through networking and legislative events and educational and motivational seminars. The Chamber is engaged in a variety of programs and activities that strengthen businesses and improve the overall quality of life of the community.
The Franklin Business Center is a four-story, 40,000 square foot, fully renovated and restored office facility located in Historic Downtown Franklin. The building houses office space, support staff and programs that nurture startup businesses, expanding businesses and entrepreneurs. The incubator program is designed to assist these businesses during their first few years when their needs usually outpace their ability to provide for themselves making them more vulnerable to failure. The Franklin Business Center also provides a variety of business services including hands-on management assistance, access to equipment and exposure to critical business assistance programs and technical support services under one roof.
Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center
The Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center provides a variety of business solutions including business development services, business planning, business workshops, loan application assistance, business resources, information regarding small business grants, business library access, free confidential business counseling and general business support for those who are starting a business or are already in operation.
Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance
The mission of the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance is to market Hampton Roads worldwide as the Region of choice for business investment and expansion. The Alliance serves as the Region’s lead economic development and marketing organization for promoting Hampton Roads and recruiting new and expanding businesses for location in Virginia’s Hampton Roads.
Opportunity Inc. oversees federally funded workforce development programs, which assist businesses in accessing qualified workers and jobseekers in finding suitable job openings and bolstering their earning power through training. The organization strives to meet the area's business community's need for trained and qualified workers; increase per capita income; promote greater corporate competitiveness and improve regional prosperity through initiatives that strengthen the regional workforce.
Virginia Economic Development Partnership
In 1995, the Virginia General Assembly created the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to better serve those seeking a prime business location and increased trade opportunities and, therefore, to foster increased expansion of the Commonwealth's economy.
Virginia Employment Commission
The Virginia Employment Commission provides a wide variety of no-fee services to employers, including exposure to job vacancies, recruitment assistance, labor market information, tax credit information and many more. The Virginia Employment Commission also provides employment assistance to those looking for work.

The Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity provides several training and recruiting services to new and existing companies as well as training funds.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services promotes the economic growth and development of Virginia agriculture, provides consumer protection and encourages environmental stewardship.
U.S. Small Business Administration
Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses. The U.S. Small Business Administration provides assistance primarily through its four programmatic functions: Access to Capital (Business Financing), Entrepreneurial Development (Education, Information, Technical Assistance & Training), Government Contracting (Federal Procurement) and Advocacy (Voice for Small Business).

Downtown Franklin Resources
The Downtown Franklin Association works in coordination with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development's Main Street Program in administering façade grants. The Downtown Franklin Association also manages the downtown visitor center and promotes the area by hosting numerous events and festivals throughout the year.
