The City of Franklin and Southampton County understand most employment growth comes from the success of existing businesses and local entrepreneurs.  In order to make sure local companies and entrepreneurs succeed, Franklin Southampton Economic Development has developed a network of services, partners, and resources to assist existing companies.  For example:

• Franklin Business Incubator is a full service, award winning business incubator in Downtown Franklin providing support staff and programs that nurture young firms and businesses, helping them to survive and grow during their start-up period
• The Business Assistance Program, conducted with the Franklin Southampton Area Chamber and Paul D. Camp Community College, routinely visit local employers to learn their operations and identify common issues and concerns in the community  
• Resource Partners is a list of organizations throughout the Franklin Southampton community, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the U.S. Government who provide business assistance
